MISSION SPOTLIGHT: NASA Landolt Space Mission
The NASA Landolt Space Mission will place an artificial “star” in orbit to help scientists improve the accuracy of measurements used to study stars, supernovae and the expansion of the universe.
Led by George Mason University, the mission brings together researchers and partners to advance astronomical measurement and support discoveries across astrophysics and cosmology.
Small-satellite research and missions
Through George Mason’s Grand Challenge Initiative, the university will design and launch small satellites that generate data for climate forecasting, disaster preparation, infrastructure protection and scientific discovery.
This investment will expand opportunities for interdisciplinary research, hands-on student participation, infrastructure protection and scientific discovery.
